Looks like he was actually squinting from the sunlight. Where exactly did you shoot this..?
It was in a zoo. They created some sort of 'cave' for them to hide in, but one wall is made of glass, so that's really all that's between the visitors and the tigers. I was lucky that the visitors moved when they saw my camera and that the tiger was so close to the window. It's a 50mm 1.4 lens that I used, and if you have experience with that lens you know how close you have to get

I'm amazed too as to how it doesn't seem that there was any glass at all, between you and the tiger!!
I saw the other pic. Gosh, I'm a loser for tiger and cheetah pics or any other designer cat.
If I remember correctly it was around noon, but the light was great!
