This is one of my first attempts on portrait photography. I've never been into it really, but my grandfathers girlfriend was having a birthday party and there were lots of people, lots of kids especially and I just couldn't help myself. I had to take pictures.
This is Niels, one of my grandfathers girlfriends' grandkids. It was hard to make him smile, but my mom succeeded in doing so. They were playing with the 'reservation' card on the table, which he is holding in his hand.
Any constructive comment or tips or tricks are welcome, although I think I'll stick to nature and macro. There might be some more portraits coming though.
Taken with a Canon 400D, Tokina 100mm f/2.8 macro, no tripod. Added a vignette, slightly lightened up the eyes.

No matter what happen in your life, never let loose of the two ropes of life: Faith & Hope.
Life is tough when you know not how to live it.
Somtimes, you have to learn to let things that once precious to you go.
Don't give up even you fed up.
