Rigor Mortis III. by Anoya Rigor Mortis III. by Anoya
"I'm very aware of the fact that Rigor Mortis is only about muscles and corpses, and not about dead flowers and plants. I still felt like this was the most appropriate title."

Rigor Mortis. - Part I.
Rigor Mortis II. - Part II.

Wasn't sure about putting it in APN, Abstract or Still Life.

I have a sudden crave to photograph dead flowers and plants.

Taken with a Canon 400d, Tokina 100mm f/2.8.

The uncanny thing though, is how alive they still look, seeming to still bear the shadows they once did when they were moving and growing. Reminiscent of how some people look asleep rather than dead, though warmth in their bodies had already begun to drain.

A gorgeous, compelling portrait, of the spirit of flora more than anything else, at least for me

Wow, you totally nailed it! I think 'dead' flowers can be as beautiful as blooming ones, exactly as you describe it with humans as well.

Thanks so much!

EXACTLY.

Why be the same as everyone else.

I'm being amused right now because my cat is staring at a wall.

When I walk my dog in the dark and there's barely any light he can start barking at bushes for no obvious reason. That is when I decide he's done and I almost run back home, 'cause I can't see anything in the dark :slow:

Amazing, it's sharp just from the right parts and I like how there are flowers, that are more far away from the sharp one, by degrees. :+fav:ed
