Interview with =Oer-Wout
Earlier I've posted about the Flowers & Plants category. One of the photographers that I think can represent this category very well with his gallery is =Oer-Wout.
Hi Wout, could you tell us a little bit about yourself?
Hi, my name is Wout and I am from the Netherlands. Is that enough info about me?
What can I say... The photographer is not important. It`s all about the image
How did you get into photography?
When I joined DA I mainly uploaded manips. I didn`t make photos myself at that time. While browsing the galleries on DA I discovered a lot of amazing photos. I got inspired to try it myself.
So you can say that DA and it`s wonderful deviants got me into photography.
What equipment do you use?
Sony A-350
Sony 50 mm F/1.4
Sigma Sigma DC 17-70
Sigma 105 mm F/2.4 Macro lens
Minolta 70-210
B+W ND 110
Cokin ND Grad filter
Some polarisation and UV filters
Velbon tripod
What equipment would you still love to have someday?
I would love to buy a wide angle lens someday. It`s perfect for landscape photography.
What or who inspires you most?
It`s nature itself that inspires me the most. The immense beauty and mystery that she represents. It makes me wonder and I feel this strange need to capture it and share it
What is it with Wout and Flowers, Plants & Trees?
It's all about beauty. Flowers, plants, trees...nature.
For me it`s an expression of beauty in it's purest form. I can`t live without beauty. It truly keeps me going.
Whats your favorite season to shoot?
Every season has it`s own characteristics and it`s own beauty. It`s hard for me to choose just one. So... my favorite seasons are autumn and spring. I love Autumn because of the fog and colorful woods and Spring because of it`s freshness.
What time do you prefer for your photography? Early in the morning? Golden hour?
I always try to make my photos shortly after sunrise or before sunset. Light is very important when you make a photo. Light brings magic to the scene. You need it to bring a photo alive. And during sunset or sunrise the light is the most beautiful imo.
Whats your favorite photograph from your gallery and why that image?
I have many pesonal favs. They are all connected to special moments, feelings, dreams. This is one of my own favs. I love it because of more than one reason... -->
Who are your favorite APN photographers here on dA?
There are a lot of fantastic photographers here on DA and I like the diversity of APN photographers you can find here.
Here is just a small selection:
~MarcAdamus *AlicjaRodzik ~justeline `foureyes
*impatienss *michaelanderson ~ZanaSoul etc...
What things should people always keep in mind when shooting APN and/or Landscape photography, in your opinion?
Like I said before, the light is very important. So always keep an eye on the light conditions. Also important is the composition (rule of thirds) of an image. And try to make your photos in manual
mode. Use it in combination with the histogram. It`s an accurate way to control the exposure and to find the best balance between highlights and darks.
Would you like to say something to the readers?
Peace and love to you all!
